Known issues on the 2024 Tundra. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two fall under engine and engine cooling, on internal hard parts: debris from the manufacturing process may contaminate the engine, and a loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash — one campaign covers certain 2024 Tundra vehicles equipped with a V35A engine, the other certain 2022-2024 Toyota Tundra, Lexus LX and 2024 Lexus GX vehicles with that same engine. A third is a power train recall on the automatic transmission, where unexpected vehicle movement can increase the risk of a crash. A fourth is a back over prevention software error that may cause the rearview image not to display, which reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle. The remaining two are equipment label defects: on one, a vehicle with an incorrect maximum capacity weight value may be overloaded; on the other, recalled by Southeast Toyota Distributors, the load carrying capacity modification label states the incorrect load carrying capacity, and an overloaded vehicle increases the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 432 complaints against this model year, and 143 technical service bulletins have been issued.
