Known issues on the 2007 Tundra. Ten recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two cover the hydraulic power steering assist system, one on JTEKT power steering gear assembly service parts and one on gear assemblies that may have been manufactured incorrectly, where an oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash. Two cover the accelerator pedal: in one the pedal may become hard to depress or slow to return to idle, and in the other the pedal can get stuck in the wide open position, which may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop. Three concern labels, namely incorrect load carrying capacity modification labels that could result in the vehicle being overloaded, and two tire selection and rims labels that do not meet the standard requirements, where a driver may overload a vehicle which may increase the risk of a crash. The last three cover the tire pressure monitoring system, where drivers will not receive a warning from the tire pressure monitor; a power window switch that, if it overheats, may melt, possibly resulting in a fire; and a front seat heater whose copper strand heating element, if damaged, may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. Owners have filed 535 complaints for the year and Toyota has issued 108 technical service bulletins.
