Both steering campaigns involve the hydraulic power assist system: one recalls JTEKT power steering gear assembly service parts supplied for 2007-2021 Tundra and 2008-2022 Sequoia models, the other covers gear assemblies that may have been manufactured incorrectly on 2007-2021 Tundra and 2008-2022 Sequoia vehicles, and in each case an oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash. A third recall covers body structure on 2016-2017 Tundras built with a resin rear step bumper and resin reinforcement brackets: if a person steps on the corner of a bumper that is damaged, a portion of the bumper may break. The fourth, from Southeast Toyota Distributors, covers wheel lug nuts on 2013-2017 Tundra and Sequoia trucks fitted with accessory 20-inch Rockstar wheels, where lug nuts that crack and detach may cause the wheels to separate from the vehicle.
