Known issues on the 1997 Astro. Seven recalls stand against the 1997 van. Cracked solder joints on the wiper motor's controller board can stop the wipers outright or leave them working intermittently. The outboard belt on the right-hand rear bucket seat can tear apart in a crash. Integrated child seats can be missing a retractor spring, so the belt binds or will not restrain properly. A belt reminder that may not sound, a replacement fuel filter that leaks at its connection and two nonconforming lamp sets fill out the list. Visibility tops 448 complaints at 64, ahead of brakes at 45.
