This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Chevrolet Astro is a one-engine, four-body book. Everything in it turns on the naturally aspirated 4.3-liter overhead-valve V6 of 262 cubic inches, gasoline-fueled, fitted to standard and extended three-door vans in passenger and cargo configurations across Base, CL, CS and LT trim. That single powertrain keeps the fuel, ignition and cooling specifications short and unambiguous, while suspension, brake and body electrical work is documented across the standard and extended bodies separately.

Known issues on the 1993 Astro. The federal record carries five recalls here. Fuel makes up two of them — a replacement return line with an under-torqued bleed valve that can leak at the valve, and a replacement filter that can seal poorly at its connection — and both end in the same place, fuel escaping near an ignition source. A third concerns front seat back height falling short of the head restraint standard. Suspension and power train together account for 40 of the 166 complaints, behind 45 on service brakes; driveline, suspension and brake procedures are all specified in this manual.
