Known issues on the 1982 Grand Prix. The federal record lists 1 recall for the 1982 Grand Prix, and it involves the fuel injection pump. On certain 1982 Grand Prix vehicles, limited to a particular engine fitment, the retainer holding the pump's governor weights could break under some driving conditions. The throttle valve might then hang open, so the engine would neither drop back to idle nor shut off when the driver tried to stop it. Dealers fitted a new governor weight assembly inside the pump.
