Known issues on the 2005 Grand Prix. The federal record for the 2005 Grand Prix holds 1 recall. On certain 2005 Grand Prix vehicles, a heavy key ring, rough roads or another jolt could turn the ignition switch away from the run position, stopping the engine and possibly leaving the air bags unable to deploy in a crash. Until the repair, owners were advised to carry only the ignition key on the ring; dealers then fitted revised key rings and a slot insert or key head cover. Owners logged 148 complaints, 45 on the electrical system, 40 on the power train and 24 on steering; 11 reported a crash, 6 an injury and 5 a fire.
