1986 Pontiac Grand Prix Service and Repair Manual

Certain 1986 Grand Prix vehicles could have a push-pull headlight switch with faulty contacts, so the lamps might flicker or cut out without warning at night or in bad weather; the switch was replaced where needed. Certain 1986 Grand Prix LE and Brougham vehicles with power door locks carried a driver's lock switch that could break open and short against the mirror cable, a fire risk.
