Known issues on the 2006 Grand Prix. An ignition switch problem is the subject of the 1 recall logged for the 2006 Grand Prix. Certain 2006 Grand Prix vehicles could have the key turned out of the run position by a loaded key ring or a hard bump, cutting the engine and possibly preventing air bag deployment. Dealers fitted new key rings and an insert or cover for the key, and owners were told to leave nothing else on the ring in the meantime. The 239 owner complaints focus on the electrical system (65), power train (61) and exterior lighting (48); 21 reported a fire, 17 a crash and 16 an injury.
