2008 Ford Lobo Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2008 Ford Lobo documents ten trims: Cromo, FX2, FX4, Harley-Davidson Edition, King Ranch, Lariat, Lariat Cromo, Limited, STX and XLT. Two body styles carry them, the four-door crew cab pickup and the two-door standard cab pickup, and two engines power them, the naturally aspirated 5.4L SOHC V8 of 330 cubic inches and the naturally aspirated 4.6L SOHC V8 of 281 cubic inches, both on gasoline. Since every trim uses one of those two V8s, the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are arranged by engine and body rather than by badge.

Known issues on the 2008 Lobo. A single recall is on federal record for the 2008 model year, and it comes from Roush rather than Ford: trucks altered to run on liquid propane injection carried a hydrocarbon paper fixed to the inside of the airbox lid with adhesive. NHTSA's records show 455 owner complaints on this year. The propane conversion is an aftermarket alteration, but the manual's air intake procedures, fuel system diagnostics and wiring diagrams for the 5.4L and 4.6L V8s remain the starting point for any work on the induction side of those trucks.
