2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo covers LS, LT and SS versions of the two-door coupe and three overhead-valve V6 engines: the 3.4L of 207 cubic inches, the 3.8L of 231 cubic inches with a supercharger, and the same 3.8L without one. Two of the three share a displacement and differ in induction, so the engine material separates them by charge air handling as much as by dimension, while the chassis and body procedures are written once for all three cars.

Known issues on the 2005 Monte Carlo. Four recalls are recorded for this model year. One covers an ignition switch that can be pushed out of the run position, which can stop the air bags from deploying in a crash and cut engine power at the same time. Two involve replacement steering parts, a knuckle that can break and an intermediate shaft whose weld can fail, either of which takes steering control with it. The fourth covers a fuel pressure regulator built without its O-ring and retainer, so fuel can leak and ignite. The electrical system accounts for 81 of the 120 complaints on record.
