Known issues on the 2002 Safari. Lighting and fuel account for the three recalls carried on the federal record. An open circuit inside the multifunction switch can knock out the stop lamps and the hazard lamps together. A replacement fuel filter may not seal where it connects, and gasoline escaping near an ignition source can burn. Replacement corner lamps and headlights sold without amber side reflectors fall short of the federal lighting requirement. The 32 owner complaints lean the same way, with 11 on the service brakes, six on the electrical system and three on the suspension.
