1990 GMC Safari Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 GMC Safari covers four body variants, extended and standard cargo vans and extended and standard passenger vans, all with three doors, in Base, SLE, SLT and SLX trim. The engine bay held either the 4.3L V6 or the 2.5L inline-four, overhead-valve gasoline units with no forced induction. Known issues on the 1990 Safari. Four recalls are recorded. Fuel return hoses can break at either crimped coupling and spill fuel where it can ignite. A two-piece brake rotor can corrode at the joint between its steel center and cast outer ring until the sections come apart. A rear seat belt anchorage bar failed to hold the loads the federal standard demands. Seat recliner bolts torqued over foam or vinyl work loose and fatigue. Of the 37 owner complaints, 15 name the service brakes, six the body structure and five the seats, which is where the brake and seat procedures here earn their keep.
