2000 GMC Safari Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2000 GMC Safari spans three bodies: the three-door extended cargo van, the three-door standard passenger van and the three-door extended passenger van, sold in SL, SLE and SLT trim. One engine appears on the list, the 262-cubic-inch 4.3L V6, an overhead-valve gasoline design without forced induction. Its service data, meaning procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics, is arranged by system, so the same job on the short van and on the long one shares a single reference.

Known issues on the 2000 Safari. Two recalls are on the federal record for this year. One concerns replacement fuel filters that may not seal where they connect, letting fuel escape near an ignition source. The other concerns aftermarket corner lamps, turn signals and headlights supplied without the required amber side reflectors, which leaves the van harder to see from the side after dark. Owner complaints run to 88, with 31 on the service brakes, nine on the steering and seven on the fuel system, the very areas the brake, steering and fuel sections address.
