Known issues on the 1997 E-350 Econoline Club Wagon. Four recalls appear on the federal record for this model year. The one specific to the van covers a battery cable harness that lacks protection where the right engine mount can rub it; chafed insulation there can short to ground and overheat the surrounding wiring. The others are two aftermarket lamp actions and a speed control harness wired against the vehicle's polarity. Owners have filed three hundred and twenty-four complaints with NHTSA, divided almost evenly among the service brakes, the engine and cooling system and the tires. Cable routing, brake and cooling procedures are all in this manual.
