Known issues on the 1986 E-350 Econoline Club Wagon. Eight recalls are on federal record for this wagon. Three of them repeat a single heater hose routing error that could let the hose chafe through, and one more covers heater and bypass hoses deteriorating in extreme service. Separately, deformed brake rod covers could interfere with the accelerator pedal returning from an open throttle. Twelve complaints are logged with NHTSA, concentrated on the electrical system, the engine and cooling system and the power train. Cooling, pedal linkage and electrical diagnosis are the sections this manual will be opened at most.

DEFORMED BRAKE ROD COVERS MAY INTERFERE WITH RETURN OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL FROM OPEN THROTTLE POSITION.
VEHICLES ARE SUBJECT TO EXCESSIVE UNDERHOOD TEMPERATURES AND FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURES IN SEVERE DUTY APPLICATIONS.
NYLON TIES THAT SUPPORT THE MAIN WIRING HARNESS TO THE CHASSIS COULD WEAR AND BREAK DUE TO EXCESSIVE VIBRATION. THUS, WIRING HARNESS COULD FALL ON ENGINE COMPONENTS AND SHORT CIRCUIT.
