1999 GMC Sierra 1500 Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 has three naturally aspirated, overhead-valve gasoline engines to work through: the 325-cubic-inch 5.3L V8, the 294-cubic-inch 4.8L V8 and the 262-cubic-inch 4.3L V6. Known issues on the 1999 Sierra 1500. Four recalls are on the federal record. One found the right front passenger restraint system falling short of the neck extension requirements in the federal occupant protection standard. Another involves oil filters that could seal inadequately and let the engine lose its oil, with a fire possible if it reached something hot. A third covers a fuel connection that could seal poorly and leak. The fourth describes a hub bearing retention nut that can loosen far enough to separate a wheel. Of 159 complaints, 95 name the service brakes.
