2006 GMC Sierra 1500 Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 2006 Sierra 1500. The federal record shows six recalls. A power steering hose that was not to specification could split during hard steering and leak, costing power assist and, on trucks with hydro-boost brakes, brake assist as well. A fuel rail pulse damper retainer clip could fracture and allow a fuel leak. Two further campaigns concern labeling, an incomplete rim designation on the tire placard and an inaccurate vehicle capacity weight, either of which can lead to the wrong wheel or the wrong inflation. Complaints total 279, led by service brakes at 112, electrical system at 29 and power train at 27.
