Known issues on the 2018 Sierra 1500. Seven recalls are on the federal record. Four describe roof-rail air bag inflators whose end caps can detach or whose sidewalls can rupture, letting compressed gas escape and propelling hardware into the cabin. Two more concern the mechanical vacuum pump, whose falling output reduces brake assist and lengthens stopping distance. A wheel speed sensor fault could also brake one wheel unprompted. Complaints number 298, with 116 on the power train, 34 on the engine and 31 on the electrical system.
