Known issues on the 2012 Sierra 1500. Three recalls appear on the federal record. Two of them concern the front passenger inflator module, which can rupture during deployment and throw sharp metal fragments at the people in the cab. The third covers fire extinguishers shipped with the truck that could become clogged and fail to put out a fire. Complaints are unusually sparse for this model line at 49 in total, with 9 on the electrical system, 7 on the structure and 7 on the steering.
