Known issues on the 2014 Sierra 1500. Eight recalls are on the federal record, and the heaviest of them target braking and steering. Vacuum output from the brake pump can fall away with age, raising pedal effort and lengthening stops. A failed wheel speed sensor could trip the driveline protection function between about 41 and 60 mph and brake the opposite wheel, pulling the truck sideways. The driver's belt tensioner cable could fatigue and part where the driver slides across it. Complaints reach 858: 193 exterior lighting, 161 steering, 119 service brakes.
