Known issues on the 2009 Sierra 1500. The federal record holds four recalls. Three of them address the front passenger air bag inflator, which could explode as it deployed and drive sharp metal fragments toward the people in the cab; those campaigns were confined to trucks first sold or registered in certain states. The fourth covers fire extinguishers supplied with the vehicle that could clog and fail when needed.
