Known issues on the 2018 Civic. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two concern the fuel system: the low-pressure fuel pump inside the tank can fail, and a fuel pump failure can stall the engine while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. One covers the electric power steering system, where a torque-sensor magnet can come loose and apply steering assist in the wrong direction during a full-lock turn, reducing vehicle maneuverability and increasing the risk of a crash. One covers the front passenger airbag occupant-classification sensor, which can crack and short circuit and cause unintended deployment in a crash. One covers the certification labels, whose manufacturing-date area can print random characters that make it hard for an owner to tell if their car is covered by a recall. The remaining recall covers the owner's guide on certain Civic Hatchback and Civic Type R vehicles, which may be missing or may not include required child-restraint anchorage information, increasing the risk of injury or a crash.
