Known issues on the 2007 Civic. Nine recalls are on federal record for this model year, six of them tied to the passenger frontal air bag inflator: on some campaigns the inflator itself can rupture after long-term exposure to heat and humidity and send metal fragments into the cabin, while on others a replacement inflator was installed incorrectly and may not deploy properly, either fault raising the risk of injury or death in a crash. A wheel speed sensor O-ring can let water into the wheel bearing, corroding it until the bearing loosens and a wheel can come off. The brake light switch can fail when steering-column grease drips onto it, cutting brake lights and, on automatics, blocking the shifter out of park. On CNG-equipped cars, an interior fire near the rear seat can heat the compressed natural gas tank unevenly and keep its pressure relief device from venting, risking a tank rupture.
