Known issues on the 2014 Civic. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the automatic transmission control module: a software setting can damage the transmission drive pulley shaft, and if that shaft breaks the vehicle may lose acceleration or the front wheels may lock up while driving, raising the risk of a crash. The second covers the tires, specifically the bead: on affected LX vehicles the bead may have been pinched against the steel wheel rim during mounting, damaging the tire in a way that can cause it to lose air, again raising the risk of a crash.
