Known issues on the 2005 Civic. Fifteen recalls are on federal record for this model year. Seven cover Takata-supplied driver and passenger frontal air bag inflators that can rupture or explode after long-term exposure to heat and humidity, sending metal fragments into the cabin and risking serious injury or death, and an eighth covers a passenger frontal air bag that may have been installed incorrectly and deploy improperly in a crash. A ninth covers curved tempered side and rear glass that fails to break into small pieces as designed, raising the risk of injury from shattered glass in a crash. Four more cover aftermarket headlight and corner-lamp assemblies sold without the required amber side reflectors, reducing visibility to other drivers. One covers the CNG fuel tank, which under uneven heating from a severe interior fire may fail to vent as designed and could rupture or eject from the vehicle. And one covers front seat belt anchors installed with an incorrect washer that can leave the belt improperly positioned for the occupant.
