2014 Ford Explorer Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 2014 Explorer. Seven recalls are on federal record, and four of them concern the rear suspension toe links, which could fracture, sometimes at an improper weld, and cause a loss of steering control. Another covers the support bracket for the front halfshaft on 2.0L front-wheel-drive trucks, which could fail and cost both the park function and motive power, and one covers A-pillar trim clips that could let the trim detach. Owners have filed 1,674 complaints with NHTSA, led by steering at 496, structure at 258 and the engine at 125.
