Known issues on the 2014 Regal. Two recall campaigns name the 2014 Regal in the NHTSA database. On certain cars, fasteners that were not torqued correctly could let the steering intermediate shaft come apart from the steering gear, or the lower control arm come apart from the lower ball joint, and steering could be lost. On certain cars with automatic transmissions, the shift cable adjuster could slip off the shift lever, so the driver might not be able to change gears and the indicated position might not match the actual gear. Owners filed 38 complaints, 9 on the engine and 6 on the power train, and 1 complaint reported a crash and 1 an injury. Steering and transmission torque values and procedures address those systems.
