Known issues on the 1988 Regal. Ten recalls were issued for the 1988 Regal. On certain cars sold or registered where road salt use is heavy, corroded retainers could let the front engine cradle bolts pull free, which could separate the steering intermediate shaft from the steering gear. Certain cars with specific Kelsey-Hayes steel wheels could crack at the mounting face and shed a wheel. On certain cars, twisted parts could let the left front brake hose rub through against the fender area; that recall covered 8,328 vehicles.
