Known issues on the 2014 Sequoia. Three recalls are on record for this vehicle, and two of them land on the same system. Both concern the hydraulic power steering assist: one covers JTEKT power steering gear assembly service parts supplied for 2007-2021 Tundra and 2008-2022 Sequoia, the other covers 2008-2022 Sequoia and 2007-2021 Tundra vehicles whose power steering gear assembly may have been manufactured incorrectly. In both cases an oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash. The third is narrower: Southeast Toyota Distributors recalled certain model year 2013-2017 Toyota Tundra and Sequoia vehicles accessorized with Southeast Toyota accessory 20-inch Rockstar wheels, where lugnuts that crack and detach may cause the wheels to separate from the vehicle. Owners have filed 25 complaints against the 2014 Sequoia, and 156 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
