The 2011 Toyota Sequoia came with two V8s — the 5.7L (3UR-FE and 3UR-FBE) and the 4.6L (1UR-FE) — and the two do not share their service numbers, so a torque value, clearance or tightening sequence has to be read against the engine actually in the truck and against the 2011 model year, not a close-enough figure carried over from an adjacent year.

Known issues on the 2011 Sequoia. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two land on the hydraulic power assist steering: one covers JTEKT power steering gear assembly service parts, the other covers power steering gear assemblies that may have been manufactured incorrectly, and in both an oil leak may cause a sudden loss of power steering assist, increasing the risk of a crash. A third is filed against the power window devices and controls: if the sliding electrical contacts are not protected by lubricant, debris and moisture can get in. A fourth covers the frontal air bag sensor and control module, where the front passenger seat occupant sensing system may be out of calibration. A fifth covers the tire pressure monitoring and regulating systems, where failure to warn of tire deflations is a non-compliance with FMVSS 138 and could lead to tire failure. The sixth covers the front seat heater, whose copper strand heating element may short circuit if damaged, increasing the risk of a fire. Owners have filed 21 complaints against the 2011 Sequoia, and Toyota has issued 118 technical service bulletins for it.
