2012 Ford F-550 Super Duty Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2012 Ford F-550 Super Duty covers the 6.7L V8 turbo diesel, an overhead valve engine of 406 cubic inches, and the 6.8L V10, a naturally aspirated SOHC gasoline engine of 415 cubic inches, in a chassis cab offered as a four-door crew cab, a two-door conventional cab or a four-door extended cab. Base, XL, XLT and Lariat make four trims. Because so much of this truck's recall history involves equipment mounted by upfitters, the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the exhaust, electrical and engine systems are the parts of the book that matter most.

Known issues on the 2012 F-550 Super Duty. Of the eight recalls standing against this year, seven come from upfitters and one from Ford. The upfitter campaigns center on Muncie power take-off assemblies that can leak oil onto the exhaust blanket and risk a fire, with one covering wheelchair lift platforms that may crack; Ford's own recall on ambulance and fire preparation packages concerns an exhaust gas temperature sensor fault that can shut the engine down. Owners have logged six complaints with NHTSA, three on the engine and one each on the electrical system and equipment. The manual's engine and exhaust diagnostics for the 6.7L diesel and its wiring diagrams cover those areas.
