1987 Chevrolet S10 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1987 Chevrolet S10 covers Base, Durango, Sport and Tahoe trucks in standard cab, extended cab and cab and chassis form, with two gasoline engines behind them: a 173-cubic-inch overhead-valve V6 of 2.8 liters and a 151-cubic-inch overhead-valve four of 2.5. Because the powertrain choice is narrow, the engine mechanical, fuel and ignition chapters address those two units directly, and the chassis and body material applies across every cab without qualification.

Known issues on the 1987 S10. Five recalls sit on the federal record for the 1987 truck, and two of them are steering. In one, the intermediate shaft works loose at its coupling until the pinch bolt wears the shaft splines away and the shaft can part from the steering gear. In the other, inner tie rod nuts left improperly torqued and uncrimped can back off and let the tie rod disengage. Three more cover replacement lamps missing amber side reflectors. Thirty complaints run to seat belts, the fuel system and brakes, each with its own diagnostic steps and torque values here.
