Known issues on the 2017 Silverado 1500. Six recalls are recorded for this year. One describes a vacuum pump whose output declines with age, so brake assist fades and the pedal takes more effort. Another covers a wheel speed sensor failure that lets the driveline protection system brake the opposite wheel and pull the truck sideways at highway speed. A third involves front upper control arm welds that can let the arm separate from its bushing. Complaints number 836: 216 on the power train, 172 on the service brakes, 102 electrical.
