Known issues on the 2016 Silverado 1500. Eight recalls are on the record. One covers front upper control arms with inadequate welds near the bushing, where the arm can separate from the bushing and take steering control with it. Another involves a brake pedal pivot nut that can loosen, leaving the pedal slack or inoperative. A third describes a vacuum pump that loses output over time, weakening brake assist and lengthening stops. Owner complaints total 797: 225 on the service brakes, 179 on the power train, 110 on steering.
