Known issues on the 2006 Silverado 1500. Eight recalls are listed for this model year. One covers a power steering hose built out of specification that can fracture during hard steering while braking, losing fluid and the assist along with it. Another involves a fuel rail pulse damper retainer clip that can break and let the damper loosen. A third concerns a certification label with an incomplete rim designation, which can lead to the wrong wheel being fitted. Complaints total 776: 314 on the service brakes, 73 on the electrical system, 69 on the power train.
