2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 spreads five trims — Base, Custom, LS, LT and WT — over a much simpler mechanical layout. Three overhead-valve engines are covered: a 4.3-liter V6, a 4.8-liter V8, and a 5.3-liter V8 certified to run on flex fuel or gasoline, its fuel and emissions procedures written to that difference. Two bodies carry them, a two-door standard cab and a four-door extended cab, and the wiring and body work divides along the same line.

Known issues on the 2002 Silverado 1500. Eight recalls appear against this model year. Seven concern replacement lamp assemblies built without amber side reflectors, or with beam patterns outside specification, either of which makes a truck harder for other drivers to see or to judge. The eighth covers a seven-way trailer adaptor wired incorrectly, so a trailer's lamps may not respond when the driver signals or brakes.
