The first covers the sunroof drainage system, where water intrusion can corrode the side head air bag inflator canister, weakening it to the point of fracturing without deployment and propelling metal fragments into the cabin, which may strike occupants and cause serious injury or death. The second and fourth cover the electric coolant pump on 2.0L Turbo FSI engines, which can become blocked with debris or short-circuit from moisture; if the pump overheats or short-circuits, it can increase the risk of a fire. The third covers a manufacturing defect in the automatic transmission gearbox that can let the vehicle roll away even after Park is selected, increasing the risk of a crash if the parking brake is not applied. The fifth covers the fuel pump flange, which may crack and leak fuel; a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
