Known issues on the 2011 Silverado 2500. Four recalls are recorded. Two cover frontal air bag inflators that can rupture when their propellant degrades, driving metal fragments toward the occupants. A third concerns an auxiliary battery setup where current pulled through the trailer harness melts a fusible link, which may then contact nearby parts and ignite. The fourth is a fire extinguisher that can clog and not discharge. Of 179 complaints, 53 name the air bags, 17 the structure and 12 the power train, so the restraint, body and driveline diagnostics are the sections to know.
