2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2003 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 works from a shorter parts list than the years on either side of it: two gasoline V8s, the 6.0L of 364 cubic inches and the 5.3L of 325, both overhead-valve and naturally aspirated; two cabs, standard and extended; and four trims. Base, 400 SS, LS and LT share most of the chassis, so the suspension, brake and driveline specifications hold across the range while the body electrical content follows the equipment.

Known issues on the 2003 Silverado 2500. Eight recalls are recorded. Three of them describe defects on the truck itself: a center rear lap belt routed high enough to sit on an occupant's abdomen instead of low on the hipbones, a windshield bonded without a continuous urethane bead so the glass may not be retained in a crash, and replacement hub assemblies whose inboard retention nut can loosen, bringing noise, an ABS warning or a separated wheel. The 2,119 complaints run 936 on the service brakes, 396 on the electrical system and 165 on steering — brake hydraulics, body wiring and steering linkage each carry their own procedures and torque values here.
