2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 has only one trim to describe, Base, but two cabs to cover, a two-door standard and a four-door extended, which changes doors, glass, belts and harness routing between otherwise identical trucks. Both were built around naturally aspirated overhead-valve gasoline V8s: the 5.3L of 325 cubic inches and the 4.8L of 294. Specifications and torque values are given per system, with the body sections keyed to the cab in front of you.

Known issues on the 2008 Silverado 2500. Two recalls appear for this year. One is a short circuit on the circuit board of the heated washer fluid system, which can make other features misbehave, give off an odor or produce smoke, with fire the end risk. The other covers replacement headlamps sold without the amber side reflector, which reduces how well the truck is seen from the side at night. Complaints run to 1,076 and lean hard on the air bags at 630, then 122 electrical and 39 structure, all systems with their own wiring diagrams and fault diagnosis here.
