Known issues on the 2005 MPV. The 3 recalls on the federal record for the 2005 MPV concern the front passenger air bag inflator, whose propellant can break down after prolonged heat and humidity, so the inflator could rupture as the air bag deploys, spraying metal fragments. One covered certain 2005 MPV vans whose inflator had already been replaced with the same design under an earlier recall; the other two cover certain vans according to the state where they were sold or registered. Owners were told not to drive until the inflator was replaced with an alternate one. Of 36 complaints, 10 involve the air bags; 5 reported a crash and 4 an injury.
