The 1994 Mazda MPV was built in a single body configuration, the Passenger Standard Passenger Van 3-Door, but with a choice of two very different engines: a 2.6L inline-four and a 3.0L V6 carrying the JE engine code. Clearances, torque values and repair sequences diverge between those two, so the figures you work to have to be the ones Mazda published for the 1994 MPV and for the engine actually in your van, not figures borrowed from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 1994 MPV. One recall is on federal record for this model year, and it covers the ignition switch in the electrical system. Mazda North American Operations recalled certain model year 1989-1998 MPV vans, along with certain 323, Protege, MX-3, 929, MX-6 and 626 cars, because grease applied to the contact points inside the ignition switch may become conductive and overheat; if the ignition switch overheats there would be an increased risk of a fire. Owners have filed 42 complaints for the year.
Whether you are chasing an ignition or electrical fault on a high-mileage MPV or working through routine service on the 2.6L four or the JE V6, this manual keeps you on the Mazda procedure and the correct specification for your 1994 van.
