Known issues on the 2004 MPV. NHTSA's record holds 5 recalls for the 2004 MPV. Two concern the front passenger air bag inflator on certain 2004 MPV vans, one of them for vans whose inflator an earlier recall had replaced with the same design: long exposure to humidity and temperature swings can degrade its propellant, and the inflator could then explode and throw metal fragments. Owners were told not to drive until a dealer installed an alternate inflator. Certain vans had the front passenger seat air bag wired incorrectly, leaving it unable to protect adequately; dealers fitted a new harness, and that recall covered 15,800 vehicles.
