1993 Ford Taurus Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Ford Taurus spans four naturally aspirated V6 engines: the 3.0L OHV V6, listed for flex-fuel or gasoline, the 3.8L OHV V6, the 3.0L DOHC V6 and the 3.2L DOHC V6. Three trims are covered, GL, LX and SHO, in four-door sedan and four-door wagon bodies. Because the flex-fuel 3.0L OHV engine and the two DOHC engines differ from one another in detail, the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are keyed to the engine actually in the car.

Known issues on the 1993 Taurus. Eight recalls are on federal record. Anti-lock brake controllers meant for rear wheel drive cars were installed on these front wheel drive cars, reducing braking ability; front coil springs on cars in listed states can break and cut into a tire; and the headlights can flash or go out for brief intervals when a circuit breaker opens. Owners have submitted 1822 complaints to NHTSA, and engine and engine cooling accounts for far more of them than suspension or the power train. Cooling system diagnostics, coil spring specifications and wiring diagrams for the headlamp and anti-lock brake circuits are in the manual.
