2002 Ford Taurus Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 Ford Taurus is for the four-door wagon and four-door sedan in four trims, LX, SE, SEL and SES, and for two naturally aspirated 3.0L V6 engines: the OHV V6 that runs on flex-fuel or gasoline and the gasoline DOHC V6. Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are set out for both, with the OHV and DOHC engines kept apart throughout, and the wagon's rear body is covered wherever it departs from the sedan.

Known issues on the 2002 Taurus. The federal record lists four recalls. The windshield mounting failed to meet the federal standard, showing up as wind noise, water leaks and rattles, with weaker retention in a crash; the stop lamp switch or its wiring can fail, leaving the brake lights off or permanently on; and the adjustable brake and accelerator pedals were set too close together, so both could be pressed at once. Complaints logged with NHTSA number 1471, and suspension accounts for most of them, far ahead of visibility and vehicle speed control. Windshield replacement procedures, stop lamp wiring diagrams and suspension specifications are in the manual.
