1999 Ford Taurus Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1999 Ford Taurus covers three trims, LX, SE and SHO, in four-door wagon and four-door sedan bodies. Known issues on the 1999 Taurus. Seven recalls are on federal record. A dash insulator retainer clip that was not fully seated on the accelerator cable fitting can drop into the pedal pivot area and keep the engine from returning to idle, and on cars with the California emissions package an incorrect transmission oil cooler line rubs on the anti-lock brake module bracket until it leaks onto hot exhaust parts. Owners have registered 954 complaints with NHTSA, with suspension the largest group, then steering and vehicle speed control.
