1992 Ford Taurus Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Ford Taurus is a V6-only book: the 3.0L OHV V6, the 3.8L OHV V6 and the 3.0L DOHC V6, all naturally aspirated and gasoline fueled, are the three engines listed. The four trims are GL, L, LX and SHO, offered as a four-door sedan or a four-door wagon. For each V6 the manual supplies procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics, and the wagon is covered separately from the sedan wherever the two bodies differ.

Known issues on the 1992 Taurus. The federal record carries six recalls. The wagon's liftgate latch could fail to catch in its secondary position and let the liftgate open while driving; in a handful of listed states the engine cooling fan, its shroud, wiring or motor can smoke or catch fire; and 3.8L cars in other listed states can lose some control of vehicle speed through the speed control or accelerator control. Owners have taken 885 complaints to NHTSA, dominated by engine and engine cooling, with the power train and service brakes next. The manual's cooling fan wiring diagrams, liftgate procedures and speed control diagnostics address those components.
