1991 Ford Taurus Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1991 Ford Taurus documents four gasoline engines, every one naturally aspirated: the 2.5L OHV inline-four, the 3.0L OHV V6, the 3.8L OHV V6 and the 3.0L DOHC V6. Body coverage is the four-door sedan and the four-door wagon, and the five trims are Base, GL, L, LX and SHO. Torque values, specifications, wiring diagrams, diagnostics and step-by-step procedures are organized by engine and then by system, so the inline-four car and the DOHC V6 car can each be followed without wading through figures for the other.

Known issues on the 1991 Taurus. Five recalls are on federal record. One is specific to 3.8L cars in listed states, where the driver's control of vehicle speed through the speed control or accelerator control can be diminished; the others include the front strut sway bar bracket welds that can tear away and puncture a tire, and front disc rotors that corrode in road salt and can fracture. NHTSA holds 833 owner complaints on this year, with the power train far ahead of engine and engine cooling and steering. Procedures, specifications and diagnostics for the speed control, power train, struts and brakes are in the manual.
