1987 Ford F-250 Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1987 Ford F-250 applies to the 5.8L V8, the 5.0L V8, the 7.5L V8, the 6.9L V8 diesel and the 4.9L inline-six, five naturally aspirated OHV engines carried into the year unchanged in displacement. Known issues on the 1987 F-250. Two recalls stand on the federal record for the 1987 F-250. Lug nut cone angles on some trucks do not match the wheel seating angles, so nuts can loosen in service until a wheel separates; the other is the spring lock fuel line coupling that can disengage and lose fuel. Owners have filed 48 complaints with NHTSA, 13 of them on the electrical system, nine on the service brakes and six on the engine and cooling.
